Our Program

Youth | Grades 2 - 8

2nd, 3rd, & 4th Grade Boys  Our 3/4 program is also open to 2nd graders. It is developmental with a focus on fundamental skills and the introduction of team offense and team defense.  Players are evenly divided on teams based on skill as determined by player evaluation during the initial practices. Teams practice twice a week starting in February with games on Saturdays starting in March.  Games are played through South Sound Lacrosse League.

5th & 6th Grade Boys  Our 5/6 program is developmental and focus remains on fundamentals and the development of multiple team concepts.  Players will be divided evenly between teams based skills evaluation during the initial practices. Teams practice twice per week starting in February with games on Saturdays starting in March.  Games are played through South Sound Lacrosse League.

7th & 8th Grade Boys  Our 7/8 program becomes more competitive.  7/8 teams practice 2-3 times per week starting in February and play games on Saturdays starting in March.  Games are played through the South Sound Lacrosse League.

12U Girls (grades 4-6) Our youth girls program is developmental with a focus on lacrosse fundamentals and stick skills in a fun environment. Players are evenly divided on teams based on skill as determined by player evaluation during the initial practices. Practices will begin late in February.

14U Girls (grades 7 & 8) This program is league competitive and focused on player fundamentals and development. Teams practice twice per week starting in lateFebruary with games on Saturdays starting in March.

Beyond 2nd graders playing with 3/4 boys and 4th graders playing with 5/6 girls, players are not allowed to “play up” (i.e., a 6th grader playing in 7/8 division) without VLC Board approval. Any requests to play up should be made prior to January 15th by emailing info@vashonlacrosse.net

 

High School | Grades 9 - 12

Vultures High school Boys  We have one varsity boys team that is league competitive and won the state championship in 2019. The team practices Monday through Friday after school, and practices start in line with the start of spring high school sport practices at VHS. Players must have 10 practices prior to the first game. Games are played through the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association and the season runs through late May.

Valkyries High school Girls  We have one JV girls team that is league competitive. The team practices Monday through Friday after school, and practices start in line with the start of spring high school sport practices at VHS. Players must have 10 practices prior to the first game. Games are played through the Washington School Girls Lacrosse Association the and the season runs through mid-May.
